Hi! Welcome to DOGS BY WAGS.
DOGS BY WAGS are original works of doggie art painted in watercolor and gouache. The pieces are modern, whimsical and stylish. They are portraits for the dog lover who wants something funky and fun! Composition and scale are important elements to my overall approach. The painted pup is cut out and pasted onto a background of paper or vinyl contact paper of your choosing. Cool!
How it works: I paint from color photographs. You email me A TON and we decide which photo will make the best painting. I start painting and email you images along the way of my progress. It is very collaborative right up until the end when it comes to picking out the paper which we also do together. Framing is included for sizes up to 16 x 20. I require a 50% deposit upon starting the job. Paintings usually take 4 weeks. If you (or your doggie) don't like the piece I will refund your deposit minus 50%.
Portraits start at $500.
I can also paint your pup's favorite toy, chewie or friend. Price subject to the job.
About me: I have shown my work extensively in Los Angeles, Texas, New York and Frankfurt and I am represented by the Acuna-Hansen Gallery in Chinatown. My last two solo shows at Acuna Hansen in 2003 and 2005 received “Pick Of The Week” in the LA WEEKLY.
